Friends,
Your must-watch video of the week came out of South Carolina, where the legislature finally passed the Heartbeat Bill. A previous version of the legislation was blocked by the state Supreme Court, but with the court’s new conservative majority, the state will deliver a majority victory for unborn life.
Democrats went ahead with a last ditch attempt to block the bill by offering 1,000 amendments to try and wear the other side down but the caucus stood strong for life.
At the conclusion of 25 hours of debate, SC Freedom Caucus member Rep. Melissa Oremus delivered an incredible speech standing up for the right to life. She spoke from the heart about having a baby at age 16 and left every Democrat in a stunned silence.
Watch the entire thing.
Arizona:
Despite having to deal with Katie Hobbs who has used the veto pen more times in one year than any Arizona governor in history, the AZ Freedom Caucus has managed to put together an extremely productive legislative session. As we explained in our last email, AZFC Chair Sen. Jake Hoffman led the way to negotiate a budget with the governor that protects the state’s school voucher program (which Hobbs vowed to repeal) and delivered tax relief to the tune of over $260 million, all of which infuriated her fellow Democrats.
The AZFC also successfully pushed forward a one-time $250-per-child tax rebate for Arizona families and even attached language to the legislation preventing Gov. Katie Hobbs from being able to take credit for passing it. If that didn’t make Democrats look silly enough, they even at one point got them to reverse course and vote against a bill to protect tamale cooks that had passed with bipartisan support to prevent Hobbs from having her veto overridden.

Wyoming:
It was a battle in the Cowboy State’s op-ed pages over the weekend between the Wyoming Uniparty and the WY Freedom Caucus.
We’ve written extensively in our emails about the disgraceful end to the last session of the legislature where House Speaker Albert Sommers blocked bills for universal school choice, to stop the grooming of children in schools, and ban minors from going through sex changes.
Well according to Speaker Sommers, the WY Freedom Caucus “incites fear and stokes anger” and “pander to a national agenda” by demanding that the legislature actually keep the promises they make to their conservative voters.
In response, WYFC Chair Rep. John Bear fired back with an op-ed of his own chastising Sommers and Senate President Ogden Driskell for putting social liberal legislators in charge of the governing agenda in Cheyenne.
“If you are politically progressive or live in one of the top five most populated cities in Wyoming, you will find that you are well represented by the Wyoming House Appropriations Committee. If you are traditionally conservative or live in a place other than Cheyenne, Casper or Laramie, you may find that those holding the purse strings wouldn’t agree with you on many matters of policy,” Bear wrote.
The Uniparty is finally getting exposed for their liberal behavior. This battle will only intensify going forward, but the public is realizing they have a friend and advocate in the WY Freedom Caucus.
Montana:
After a wild end to the session that saw LGBT activists storm the legislature to try (and fail) to stop a ban on child gender mutilations, the MT Freedom Caucus further solidified their victory over the woke mob this week.
Gov. Greg Gianforte signed bills into law yesterday that defined “sex” as either “male” or “female” in state codes, as well as another that bans children from attending sexualized shows on public property and bans drag queen story hours in schools and libraries that receive taxpayer dollars.
These bills were introduced by MTFC members Sen. Carl Glimm and Rep. Braxton Mitchell respectfully.
Illinois:
From red state victory to blue state incompetence.
The Illinois legislature was supposed to end their session last week but now they’re back because the Democrat majority couldn’t agree to a budget, costing taxpayers even more money. The IL Freedom Caucus called them out on it, saying the Democrats had 16 weeks to deliver a budget but couldn’t get their act together in time.
Keep fighting,
Andy Roth
